Mike Weber
Mike Weber has been a dedicated member of the Hose and Rubber Supply team in Salt Lake City for the past five years. His journey with the company is a testament to hard work, continuous learning, and the importance of loving what you do.
Mike started his journey in the warehouse, where he spent almost three months before moving into inside sales, "I started in the warehouse for about three months, then I worked my way into being on the ground side of sales," Mike recalls.With encouragement from a friend who had been with the company for a few years, Mike took a leap of faith and left his previous job, even though it meant a pay cut. As he puts it, “It worked out in the end. I definitely make more money now, and I enjoy this work a lot more.”
In his role as a Counter Inside Sales Specialist, Mike’s day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing parts, pricing them, and ensuring customers leave with exactly what they need. His favorite part of the job? Problem-solving. “People come in after going to multiple other locations, trying to figure something out all day long, and I can fix the problem for them on the spot. It makes me happy seeing them leave with the right part, problem solved, and getting back to work.”
Mike's passion for problem-solving and customer service has enabled him to build strong relationships with returning customers while also allowing him to learn and grow continuously. “What I love most about this industry is that you learn something new every day. You never learn everything. There’s always something new to figure out, and that’s what keeps it exciting.”
What sets Hose and Rubber Supply apart for Mike is the company culture. “It’s like a family. It’s an employee-owned company, and everyone is on the same page. If you don’t know what you’re doing, there’s always someone willing to help. Everyone has their own expertise, and we all learn from each other.”
Outside of work, Mike is a family man who enjoys spending time outdoors with his loved ones. He’s an avid motorcycle rider, fly fishing, and camper. When he’s not on an adventure, you can find him playing the guitar.
