Meet Sharon: The Heart Behind Hose and Rubber's Operations

At Hose and Rubber, Sharon has been an integral part of the company's leadership for over a decade. Celebrating her 10th year this past September, she serves as the executive assistant to Scott Hilton, president of Hose and Rubber. Her primary role is making Scott's life—and, by extension, the company’s operations—run smoothly.

"Whatever it takes" is the phrase Sharon uses to describe her work, and it's clear her role is as varied as it is essential. From organizing special events to coordinating travel for the management team and board of directors, Sharon is the detail person who ensures everything comes together seamlessly.

Recently appointed as the corporate secretary, Sharon also assists the board of directors. While her title wasn’t officially announced, her influence is felt company-wide. “I just fill in the details of whatever Scott is doing,” she explains. “He’s a visionary, a big-picture guy, and I’m the snapshot person.”

Sharon's organizational skills shone during a leadership training at the Little America Hotel, where she coordinated the event for 35 managers and salespeople. Whether booking flights, securing accommodations, or arranging transportation, she made sure everything ran without a hitch.

When asked about her favorite part of the job, Sharon’s love of travel comes to the forefront. “I’m probably Hose and Rubber’s unofficial travel agent,” she says with a laugh. Whether arranging travel for industry events or planning trips for Hose and Rubber’s quarterly EOS meetings, Sharron thrives on the logistics of getting people where they need to be.

A Love for Adventure: Sharon’s Life Beyond Work

Outside of work, Sharon is just as adventurous. A single mom who raised two sons and is now a proud grandmother, she has a passion for travel that has taken her all over the globe. “I’ve been to England, Ireland, France, Germany, Egypt, Brazil, Peru, and Japan,” she shares, lighting up at the thought of her next trip—Mexico in March.

Sharon’s love for the outdoors traces back to her roots in Wyoming. Now living in Fruit Heights, Utah, she remains close to nature, enjoying the mountains and the adventure they bring. Even though she’s traveled extensively, her connection to the natural world has stayed strong.

Sharon’s path to Hose and Rubber took several turns, including working for Utah Power and earning her bachelor’s degree at night while raising her boys. She even began working on her master’s degree before her career and passion for travel took priority.

Looking Ahead

As Hose and Rubber continues to grow and evolve, Sharon remains an indispensable part of the team. Whether she's planning events, making travel arrangements, or problem-solving alongside the management team, her dedication ensures that the company keeps moving forward.

"I just do whatever it takes," she says, embodying the spirit of adaptability and dedication that has defined her role at Hose and Rubber for the past decade. With her eyes set on the next adventure, both professionally and personally, Sharron continues to inspire everyone she works with.
